Introducing our new brand, Career.io! The mission of Career.io is to be the advisor and advocate of personal career journeys. The vision for this brand is to integrate our tech-enabled products (e.g. Resume.io) with our expert-delivered services (like career coaching and resume writing) in a way that supports multiple segments of professionals throughout their careers.  
 

THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Content Writer to join our team in a freelance capacity. You will be writing articles based on key career guidance topics, including job search, resume, and interview strategy which will be published on Career.io with credit to the writer and the writer’s brand. Alongside our professional resume and cover letter-building tools, we share expert resources, guides, and blogs to help job seekers navigate their careers. The words of our writing team inspire them to make the best choices.

We meet readers and users where they are, reflecting the current, modern job marketplace drawing on our deep industry knowledge to guide their next best steps while reducing any confusion, frustration, or feelings of loneliness in their career journey. When it seems like no one truly cares about their sustainable success, we show that we do.

This is a 100% remote/work from home, 1099 contracted role. 

THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Researching related topics from a range of online sources and creating best-in-class articles and guides that are concise yet comprehensive
  • Following the Career.io guidelines in terms of the style and structure of each piece
  • Writing in a confident, warm, and expressive style. You are a trusted mentor who writes for a job seeker in an authoritative, informative, and empathetic manner
  • Creating the content alongside our SEO guidance. Find the balance between engaging writing and pushing the content up the search results
  • Meeting the content deadlines within the wider content calendar
  • Including internal and external links within the articles that elevate understanding
  • Collaborating with our editors to perfect each piece of writing before publication. Teamwork and transparency are important to us!
  • Participating in quarterly writer’s meetings and sharing content ideas
  • Completing additional writing tasks as requested – within an agreed framework

THE MUST-HAVES

  • Native proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Previous experience in copywriting or journalism
  • Ability to write to a tight brief with the required tone and voice for each piece
  • Availability every month to complete writing tasks 
  • Ability to manage deadlines
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn, adapt and communicate with an international team

THE NICE-TO-HAVES

  • Some understanding of SEO preferred
  • Previous experience writing within career services blogging
